Program Description
The National Social Work Voter Mobilization Campaign seeks to integrate nonpartisan voter engagement into social work practice and social services. This program has developed a training module that can be included in any class or workshop that connects voter turnout and community health. The training examines voter engagement from a human rights, public health, and political power perspective and addresses the barriers to voting that suppress turnout and power.
This program collaborates with faculty and universities nationwide and professional organizations and groups that support civic engagement (LWV, Nonprofit Votes, etc.).
